Denmark launched the Indian Danish Chamber of Commerce (IDCC) in New Delhi on 8 April 2026 to strengthen trade, investment and business linkages with India, ahead of the expected ratification of the India–EU FTA by end-2026.

Denmark expanded its economic engagement with India on 8 April 2026 with the launch of the Indian Danish Chamber of Commerce (IDCC) in New Delhi, aiming to strengthen trade, investment and business linkages ahead of the anticipated ratification of the India–EU FTA by the end of 2026.

The IDCC will act as a structured platform for Danish companies already operating in India, as well as those seeking market entry, by facilitating trade, investment and cross-border partnerships. It is also expected to provide market support, business networking and structured engagement between firms in both countries.

The initiative comes as negotiations around the India–European Union Free Trade Agreement progress, with both sides expecting increased trade flows and investment opportunities once the agreement is finalised.

According to Mads Schlosser, Director of the chamber, India–Denmark trade relations, built on more than four centuries of engagement, are gaining renewed momentum driven by rising Danish business interest. He added that the prospective India–EU FTA is expected to unlock additional avenues for bilateral cooperation and investment.

The Chamber has been established in collaboration with the Royal Danish Embassy in New Delhi and the Confederation of Danish Industry, and is intended to support Danish enterprises through market intelligence, peer learning and business-to-business opportunities in India’s expanding economy.
