Korea (Rep.) and Bangladesh began official talks in Seoul from 25 to 27 August 2025, to negotiate a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).
The South Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy highlighted that the agreement aims to strengthen trade and economic ties between the two nations, with Bangladesh serving as a key gateway to the growing Southwest Asian market.
Bangladesh has achieved an average economic growth rate of 6.6% over the past three years, making it an important partner for South Korea’s expansion in the region.
