On 17 February 2021, the Vietnamese Ministry of Finance (MoF) has issued a press release regarding the extension of certain tax payment deadline due to the COVID-19 pandemic. MoF proposes to the Government to extend the deadline of certain tax payments. The proposals are submitted for the following tax measures:

Corporate Income Tax

MoF proposes an extension of 3 months for the quarterly corporate tax payments for the first quarter and second quarter of 2021.

Business households and business individuals

MoF proposes for the extension of the time limit for VAT for 2020 and personal income tax payment for the 2021 payable tax amount of business households and individuals to 31 December 2021.

Value-added-tax (VAT)

For VAT, in order not to affect the state budget balance in 2021, the Ministry of Finance proposes an extension of 5 months applicable for the monthly VAT payments for January, February, March, April, May, and June 2021 and the quarterly VAT payment for the first two quarters of 2021.
