Tajikistan and Kuwait have signed an amending protocol to revise the Kuwait-Tajikistan Income and Capital Tax Treaty (2013) on 3 November 2024.
According to a press release from the Tajikistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs , a signing ceremony was held in the presence of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, HE Emomali Rahmon, and the Crown Prince of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah.
A total of nine new cooperation documents were signed to strengthen and expand bilateral relations. These include:
- Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the State of Kuwait on regulating the workforce in the private sector;
- Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait;
- Memorandum of Understanding between the Governments of Tajikistan and Kuwait on commercial cooperation;
- Memorandum of Understanding between the Governments of Tajikistan and Kuwait on cooperation in the field of industry;
- Protocol introducing amendments to the “Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the State of Kuwait on avoiding double taxation and preventing tax evasion on income and capital”;
- Agreement on cooperation between the National Information Agency of Tajikistan “Khovar” and the Information Agency of the State of Kuwait “Kuna”;
- Memorandum of Understanding between the Governments of Tajikistan and Kuwait in the field of physical education and sports;
- Memorandum of Understanding between the Governments of Tajikistan and Kuwait on cooperation in the field of standardisation;
- Executive Program of the Agreement between the Governments of Tajikistan and Kuwait on cooperation in the field of tourism for 2024-2026.
