Rwanda has approved the ratification of the income tax treaty with Botswana, advancing efforts to prevent double taxation and tax evasion. The agreement will enter into force following the exchange of ratification instruments.Â
The Rwandan Cabinet has approved the ratification of the pending income tax treaty with Botswana on 8 June 2026, according to a post by the Office of the Prime Minister of Rwanda.
Signed on 6 May 2026, the treaty aims to prevent double taxation and fiscal evasion between the two nations.
It will enter into force once the instruments of ratification have been exchanged.
Earlier, Botswana’s Ministry of Finance stated that officials from Botswana and Rwanda signed an income tax treaty on 6 May 2026.
