Romania has passed Law No 8/2014 to bring the tax low into line with EU provisions. The Law provides for new VAT place of supply rules for broadcasting, telecom and electronically supplied services that are similar to EU rules. The Law also reforms tax procedures, tax returns and audits. There are new rules in respect of companies located in treaty partner countries and new provisions in respect of taxpayers without legal status involved in agricultural activities. Excise duties on coffee and luxury goods have also been amended.
