Qatar has launched the Companies House as a unified registration and licensing hub for businesses in its four special economic zones, consolidating incorporation, licensing, tax, employment, data protection, and immigration services into a single platform.
Qatar opened The Companies House on 17 September 2026 as a single registration and licensing hub for all businesses operating within the country’s four special economic zones. The platform consolidates operations previously scattered across separate administrative bodies.
The new entity handles company incorporation, registration, licensing, tax administration, data protection, employment verification, and immigration services. All businesses in the Qatar Financial Centre, Qatar Free Zones, Qatar Science and Technology Park, and Media City Qatar now process applications through this unified system.
The Minister of Commerce and Industry, Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal al-Thani, launched the Companies House to eliminate procedural complexity for investors. His stated goal was straightforward: reduce friction in establishing operations across Qatar’s investment zones.
The Companies House maintains public registers for all four economic zones and verifies that registered companies meet labour standards and data protection requirements. This consolidation removes the need for investors to navigate multiple agencies and file separately with each zone authority.
The announcement was published in Qatari newspapers on 14 September 2026.
