Qatar’s General Tax Authority will introduce electronic approval of sweetened drinks analysis certificates through the Dhareeba platform from 1 November 2026, ending the need for taxpayers to manually attach certificates to product registration applications.
Qatar’s General Tax Authority will approve analysis certificates required for the registration of sweetened drinks electronically through the Dhareeba platform from 1 November 2026, removing the need for taxpayers to attach the certificates manually.
Under the new procedures, taxpayers will submit product registration applications through the Dhareeba platform and deliver samples to one of the laboratories accredited by the Ministry of Public Health and registered with the Authority. The laboratories will conduct the required tests to determine the types and quantities of sugars and sweeteners.
Once a laboratory approves the test results, the test data and analysis certificate will be sent automatically to the Dhareeba platform. The electronic integration will allow test results and analysis certificates to be received directly through the platform.
The General Tax Authority said the integration will reduce manual procedures, improve data accuracy and enhance the integration of information related to product registration applications.
The completion of the integration coincides with the expansion of the scope of the excise tax on sweetened drinks and forms part of the Authority’s efforts to develop its digital services and enhance electronic integration with relevant entities.
