For companies having an accounting year end of December 31, 2017, must submit their company income tax (CIT) return by June 30, 2018 to Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS). They also have to submit capital gain tax (CGT), education tax (EDT), and National Information Technology Development Levy (NITDL) by this date. On the other hand, submission and payment due date for Value Added Tax (VAT) and Withholding Tax (WHT) for the month of May, 2018 is June 21, 2018. Note that, all the returns have to submit electronically. No hard-copies of CIT returns will be accepted unless they provide that they have faced technical difficulties with the FIRS e-filing portal. All the taxpayers need to file their returns timely and pay their tax on time for avoiding penalties.
