On 4 July 2022, the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) of Nigeria has announced to extend the submission of company income tax return for the 2022 year of assessment. Accordingly, the filing of Companies Income Tax Returns for the 2022 Year of Assessment, due on 30th June ‘22, has been extended to 31st August ‘22, for companies who were unable to meet up with the deadline as at the end of June, ‘22. Taxpayers that file within this extension will not be trigged to late filing penalties or late payment interest.
