Peru and the Netherlands have signed an agreement on mutual administrative assistance in customs matters aimed at strengthening information exchange, improving trade facilitation, and enhancing enforcement against customs fraud, with the agreement set to enter into force following ratification.

Peru’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that officials from the Netherlands and Peru signed an Agreement on Mutual Administrative Assistance in Customs Matters on 4 June 2026.

The agreement will facilitate the exchange of information between customs authorities, streamline the flow of legitimate trade, combat customs fraud more effectively, and allow progress toward more modern and transparent procedures. The agreement also aims to strengthen the security of the international trade supply chain and enhance the capacities of the customs institutions of both countries.

The agreement will enter into force after the ratification instruments are exchanged between the two countries.
