Malta’s Finance Minister has stated that the country wants to ensure that the country’s taxation system is as business friendly and streamlined as possible to facilitate and attract investment.

The statement was made at the MIM Malta International Taxation Conference 2014, entitled Latest Developments in International Tax Law, on March 06, 2014. The Minister indicated that the government will streamline the tax system, so that compliance would be easier especially for micro enterprises or small and medium enterprises. He also stated that financial services will be one of the main drivers of the economy and red tape would be reduced for businesses.
