Kosovo and Kuwait have agreed to finalise an income tax treaty as part of efforts to strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries.
The agreement was discussed during a meeting between Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Kuwait Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The two sides also agreed to finalise an agreement on the protection of investments. Kurti said Kosovo was ready to sign a memorandum on the Joint Cooperation Commission, which would provide a framework for expanding bilateral economic relations.
The Kosovo prime minister highlighted opportunities for closer cooperation in sectors including information technology and the defense industry, alongside broader economic development ties between Kosovo and Kuwait.
The proposed treaty would establish a new bilateral framework between the two countries and would need to be finalised, signed and ratified before entering into force.
