Kazakhstan has approved a list of IT-related goods exempt from import VAT under Order No. 281/ะา, covering 41 categories of equipment, with the measure applying from 1 January 2026 to 1 January 2029 and entering into force on 18 June 2026.
Kazakhstan has adopted a list of goods that qualify for exemption from import Value Added Tax (VAT) under Subparagraph 11) of Paragraph 1 of Article 479 of the Tax Code, according to Order No. 281/ะา issued on 2 June 2026 by the Deputy Prime Minister โ Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development.
The Order approves the List of Goods the Import of Which Is Exempt from VAT and applies to legal relations arising from 1 January 2026. The exemption will remain in effect until 1 January 2029.
The list includes a broad range of technology-related products identified by Commodity Nomenclature of Foreign Economic Activity (CN FEA) codes.
Covered goods include electronic modules, portable and other automatic data processing machines, processing units, storage devices, and other computer equipment. The list also contains various products used in information technology and digital infrastructure.
The Order will enter into force on 18 June 2026.
