The government of Croatia has sent a bill to parliament to ratify the Convention on Mutual Administrative Assistance in Tax Matters. This move forms part of the country’s aims to fulfill its tax obligations on an international level.

Croatia signed the amended convention of 2011 on Oct. 11, 2013. The Convention was jointly developed by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development and the Council of Europe to provide cooperation between countries in the assessment and collection of taxes. The Convention is seen as an important element in combating tax avoidance and evasion.
