The income tax treaty between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan came into force on 8 January 2025.

Signed on 24 April 2024, this agreement is the first tax treaty established between the two nations. As per the agreement, withholding taxes are applicable at 8% on dividends, 8% on interest, and 8% on royalties. Both nations use the credit method to eliminate double taxation.

Earlier, Kyrgyzstan’s President Sadyr Japarov signed into law the ratification of a new income tax treaty with Azerbaijan on 22 November 2024, and Azerbaijan’s National Assembly ratified the income tax treaty with Kyrgyzstan on 28 June 2024.

The treaty will apply from 1 January 2026.
