This agreement seeks to establish a framework for eliminating double taxation on income while preventing tax evasion and avoidance between the two countries.
The agreement has been initialled but must still be signed and ratified by both countries before it can enter into force.
Earlier, officials from Argentina and Vietnam held the first round of negotiations for an income tax treaty from 12 to 16 January 2026, following the launch of treaty negotiations in September 2025.
