Qatar’s General Tax Authority will introduce an electronic process for submitting certificates of analysis for sweetened drink registrations through the Dhareeba platform from 1 November 2026, eliminating the need for taxpayers to upload the certificates manually.

Qatar’s General Tax Authority (GTA) has announced that certificates of analysis required to register sweetened drinks will be accepted electronically through the Dhareeba platform from 1 November 2026.

The authority said the change will work through direct integration with laboratories accredited by the Ministry of Public Health and registered with the authority. Taxpayers will not have to upload the certificates themselves, it announced on 28 October 2026.

Under the new procedure, a taxpayer first submits a product registration application on the Dhareeba platform. The taxpayer then gives a sample of the product to an accredited laboratory, which carries out the tests needed to determine the types and quantities of sugars and sweeteners it contains.

Once the laboratory approves the results, the test data and the certificate of analysis are sent automatically to the Dhareeba platform.

The authority said the electronic link will give its staff direct access to the test results. It added that this will speed up the processing of applications, reduce manual procedures and improve the accuracy of the data received from laboratories.

The move is part of the authority’s wider effort to digitalise its services and simplify procedures for taxpayers registering sweetened drinks.
