Austria and Uzbekistan signed an amending protocol to their income and capital tax treaty on 7 May 2026. The protocol will enter into force after the exchange of ratification instruments.

Austria’s Federal Ministry of European and International Affairs announced that Austria and Uzbekistan signed an amending protocol to the 2000 income and capital tax treaty on 7 May 2026. The protocol was signed by officials from both countries during bilateral discussions.

The protocol is the first amendment to the treaty and will take effect once the instruments of ratification have been exchanged between the two countries.

Earlier, the Austrian Council of Ministers authorised the signing of an amending protocol to the 2000 income and capital tax treaty with Uzbekistan on 22 April 2026.
