Angola's tax authority grants taxpayers extra time to file their January VAT returns as the country adjusts to its new Electronic Invoice system, pushing the deadline from 15 March to the end of the month without penalties.
Angola’s tax administration (AGT) has announced an exceptional extension for submitting January’s periodic VAT declarations on 14 March 2026. This follows after the tax authorities acknowledged the challenges taxpayers face with the newly implemented electronic invoice system.
The deadline, originally set for 15 March, has been extended to the last working day of March 2026. This one-time extension applies without any penalties or additional charges for late submission.
While the electronic invoice system launched in January represents a significant advancement in transparency and efficiency, AGT acknowledges that taxpayers may still encounter technical difficulties and uncertainties when navigating the new platform.
All VAT declarations must be filed electronically through the Taxpayer Portal at https://portaldocontribuinte.minfin.gov.ao.
