Revenue publishes latest property tax statistics and reminds residential property owners to file their LPT Returns by the required deadline, with non-compliance letters to issue from 24 March 2026.

Ireland’s Revenue published its latest Local Property Tax (LPT) statistics and reminded residential property owners to submit their LPT Returns on 24 March 2026. The valuation submitted through this process determines the LPT charge applicable for each year from 2026 to 2030.

The report shows that over 1.9 million properties have filed returns and made payments. Around 390,000 returns remain outstanding. Of these, 227,000 properties have paid the LPT estimate in full or have a payment arrangement in place. Nearly 170,000 properties have neither filed their return nor arranged payment.

Revenue will launch its annual LPT non-compliance campaign this week. Letters will be sent to property owners in employment, giving them two weeks to file their return and make payment arrangements. Employers may be instructed to deduct LPT from wages if compliance is not met. Additional letters to other property owners will follow.

Property owners with payment arrangements are reminded that they still need to file their LPT Return and confirm their valuation band. Failure to do so could result in enforcement action.

Revenue advises that the easiest way to submit the LPT Return is online via the LPT portal, using PPSN, property ID, and PIN. A helpline is available at 01 738 3626 for assistance. The Revenue website also offers an interactive valuation tool to guide property owners in assessing their property value.

Flexible payment options remain available, including monthly direct debit, salary deduction over 10 months, or a single annual payment. Updated property tax statistics, including LPT, Vacant Homes Tax, and Residential Zoned Land Tax, are available on the Revenue website.
