Hong Kong's Inland Revenue Department is temporarily suspending its electronic profits tax return filing services from 8 PM on 20 March until 31 March 2026 to accommodate a system upgrade, with the new platform set to launch on 1 April 2026 ahead of the bulk issue of 2025/26 returns.
The Hong Kong Inland Revenue Department (IRD) announced, on 18 March 2026, a temporary suspension of its electronic profits tax return filing service in preparation for the rollout of a new version on 1 April 2026.
To facilitate system update, the electronic filing services (including “Uploading of Data Files for Supplementary Forms and Supporting Documents to Profits Tax Return” service, “Completion of Profits Tax Return” service and “Submission of Profits Tax Return” service) will be temporarily suspended from 8 PM on 20 March to 31 March, 2026.
The bulk issue of Profits Tax returns for the year of assessment 2025/26 will take place in April 2026. Upon resumption of the electronic filing services on 1 April 2026, corporations and businesses are encouraged to file their Profits Tax returns for the years of assessment 2022/23 to 2025/26 through electronic filing services.
