Panama has ratified its first tax information exchange agreement with Ecuador, published on 13 February 2026, which will enter into force once both countries exchange ratification instruments. 

Panama has ratified its first tax information exchange agreement (TIEA) with Ecuador through Law No. 508, published in the Official Gazette on 13 February 2026.

Key highlights include the formal approval of a tax information exchange agreement with Ecuador and new financial reporting templates issued by the Ministry of Economy and Finance. The Tourism Authority also announces the revocation of a specific travel agency’s license while establishing new document retention policies. At the local level, several municipalities have enacted decrees to manage public order, alcohol sales, and safety during upcoming Carnival celebrations.

The agreement, originally signed on 14 August 2025, will enter into force once both countries exchange ratification instruments.
