The Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Bahrain signed 25 memoranda of understandings (MoUs), which include an income tax treaty, at Al Bustan Palace Hotel on 15 January 2025.

The aim of these agreements is to strengthen the economic ties between the two countries and improve cooperation on tax-related matters.

The Bahraini side was represented by Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, and Nasser Al Jashmi, Chairman of the Tax Authority, represented Oman.

This signing took place during the state visit of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of Bahrain, to Oman.

The treaty is the first of its kind between the two nations and will take effect once the instruments of ratification are exchanged.
