On 20 July 2020, the National Bank of Kazakhstan was made an announcement that they have decided to reduce the base rate from 9.5% to 9.0% per annum and it is effective from 21 July 2020. The rate is used in determining the late payment interest, which is calculated as 1.25 times the base rate, divided by 365 to determine the daily rate.
