The presidents of Vietnam and Angola have signed a joint statement to expedite negotiations for an income tax treaty and other agreements on 8 August 2025.

From August 6–8, 2025, Vietnamese President Lương Cường and his spouse paid a state visit to Angola at the invitation of President João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, marking 50 years of diplomatic relations. The visit included high-level meetings, a policy address, commemorative ceremonies, and cultural engagements.
