Taiwan has extended the individual income tax filing deadline.
The Ministry of Finance has announced yesterday, 19 April 2026, that the individual tax return filing period for Fiscal Year 114 (2025) will run from 1 May to 1 June of Fiscal Year 115 (2026), with a revised deadline reflecting the impact of non-working days on the original schedule.
The individual income tax final settlement filing process will commence on 1 May.
However, as this date falls on a national holiday, in-person counter services at local National Taxation Bureau offices will not be available. Despite this, online filing systems, including mobile tax filing, will remain fully operational throughout the period. Authorities have urged both the general public and profit-seeking enterprises to take advantage of these digital services to complete their filings without disruption.
The original deadline for submission had been set for 31 May. As this date falls on a non-working day, the deadline has been officially extended by one day to 1 June.
The Ministry also addressed misinformation circulating in some media reports, clarifying that the filing deadline has not been extended to 3 June, and reaffirming that 1 June is the correct final date for submissions.
