Switzerland and San Marino signed a tax information exchange agreement (TIEA) on May 16, 2014.
The agreement provides for the exchange of tax information on request on specific tax matters. The conclusion of agreements for the exchange of tax information is currently being encouraged by the OECD which aims to introduce higher global standards of tax transparency and information exchange. These agreements are seen as an important factor in the fight against international tax evasion.
