Sri Lanka's Inland Revenue Department has asked bookmaking and gaming businesses to pay the levy on their gross collection for October 2026 on or before 7 November 2026.
Sri Lanka’s Inland Revenue Department has issued a reminder to taxpayers carrying on bookmaking or gaming businesses to settle their levy for October 2026 by 7 November 2026.
The levy applies at 18% of gross collection and is payable monthly. It covers businesses whose gross collection exceeds LKR 1 million a month. The notice relates to the year of assessment 2026/2027.
Payments must be made at any branch of the Bank of Ceylon. The department said payment by bank draft or pay order would be treated as late if the draft or order is realised after the due date.
Penalties will be imposed for non-payment or late payment of the levy, the notice said.
Taxpayers needing help can call the department’s hotline on 1944 or check the Inland Revenue Department website for updates.
