Slovenia’s new government plans to improve tax collection and reduce public spending in a bid to cut its budget deficit.
Following the parliamentary vote of confidence for his government, Prime Minister said “Our fiscal policy will be restrictive; we have to reduce public spending and increase the efficiency of tax collection.”
Slovenia has made an agreement with the European Commission to cut its deficit to three percent of gross domestic product (GDP) from the current 4.2 %.
