The Slovak President, Andrej Kiska, has signed a Law on July 30, 2018, for ratification of the Multilateral Convention to Implement Tax Treaty Related Measures to Prevent BEPS (MLI). This means that Slovak Republic has completed the domestic process to ratify the MLI. Slovakia must now deposit its ratification instrument to bring the MLI into force for its covered agreements (tax treaties). Once in force, the provisions of the MLI will generally apply for a covered agreement from January 1, of the year following its entry into force.
