Singapore’s Minister for Trade and Industry has commented that owing to its network of bilateral and regional free trade agreements (FTAs) Singapore is among the most connected jurisdictions in the world and is therefore a suitable location for multinational groups to have a regional headquarters. In addition to being a member of the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) Singapore is involved in the efforts to form a Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) by joining up all the free trade agreements concluded by ASEAN into a single trade partnership.
