Senegal and Vietnam have signed memorandums of understanding to boost cooperation in trade and agriculture.

Vietnam and Senegal signed multiple cooperation agreements on 23 July 2025 to strengthen ties in trade, agriculture, diplomacy, and local government collaboration.

The agreements include MoUs on rice trade, agricultural cooperation, and foreign affairs, along with a Letter of Intent for partnership between the Vietnamese city of Cần Thơ and Senegal’s Ziguinchor.

During the visit, Vietnamese National Assembly President Trần Thanh Mẫn and Senegalese Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko agreed to boost collaboration in agriculture, including crop breeding and irrigation, and to facilitate Vietnamese business investments in Senegal. Both leaders also emphasised enhancing cultural and parliamentary exchanges.

Bilateral trade between the two countries reached USD 134.1 million in 2023, and the new agreements are aimed at further enhancing economic and diplomatic cooperation.
