On 5 July 2020, the General Authority of Zakat and Tax (GAZT) of Saudi Arabia has issued its decision for the taxpayers subject to withholding tax to submit their tax returns for the month of June, as well as for the month of March for the Authority’s clients benefiting from the initiative to postpone. The deadline for submitting declarations and paying for withholding tax, no later than the 10th of July.
The authority called taxpayers to expedite the submission of their declarations through its website (www.gazt.gov.sa), to avoid the fine of default in the specified period, by 1% of the unpaid tax for every 30 days of delay from the due date.
Withholding tax is one of the tax systems in force in the Kingdom, which is deducted from the total income of the non-resident establishment in the Kingdom, in exchange for services provided within the Kingdom, in accordance with the rates specified in Article 63 of the Income Tax Regulation.
