The General Department of Taxation of Vietnam and the Federal Taxation Service of the Russian Federation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on technical cooperation in tax policy and tax administration on 20 June, 2024.

The tax authorities of Russia and Vietnam prioritised several key areas for mutual cooperation which includes utilising big data for tax control and administration, digital services for taxpayers, exploring possibilities of using an online cash register system, automatic exchange of information for tax purposes, and tax administration in electronic and retail trade.

The interaction of tax authorities is planned within the framework of bilateral events, working visits for the purpose of familiarisation and diagnostics of tax administration systems, as well as training of employees of tax authorities of the General Tax Administration of Vietnam.

The MoU was signed during Russian President Vladimir Putin’s state visit to Vietnam from 19-20 June, 2024.
