Federal Register NAFTA: Applications for inclusion on the Chapter 19 Roster:
The Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) invites applications from eligible individuals wishing to be included on the chapter 9 roster for the period April 1, 2017, through March 31, 2018. Chapter 19 of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) gives the establishment of a roster of individuals to serve on binational panels convened to review final determinations in antidumping or countervailing duty (AD/CV”) proceedings and amendments to AD/CVD statutes of a NAFTA Party. The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) invites the general public and other Federal agencies to take this opportunity to comment on the extension of a continuing information collection, as required by the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995. See Details
ITC Report regarding certain textile and apparel articles from Nepal published:
The U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) has been released a public version of its confidential report on  October 24, 2016 concerning whether certain textile and apparel articles from Nepal are import sensitive. See Details
USITC accepts miscellaneous tariff bill petitions:
The U.S. International Trade Commission has begun accepting petitions seeking temporary duty suspensions and reductions in accordance with the American Manufacturing Competitiveness Act of 2016 (AMCA). Enacted in May 2016, the AMCA allows petitioners who can demonstrate that they are likely beneficiaries of a suspension or reduction of duties to submit petitions to the USITC.  The USITC must evaluate the petitions and determine whether they fulfill certain statutory requirements. Report on effects of import restraints:
The U.S. International Trade Commission has begun an update of its report on the effects of significant U.S. import restraints. The report will also investigate the effects of tariffs and of customs and border procedures on global supply chains. See Details
FSIS FSIS notice 81-16 regarding trademark:
This notice provides instructions to inspection program personnel (IPP) for actions to take when they use barcodes as a means to verify whether containers of imported product with missing or completely illegible shipping marks are part of a lot certified on the accompanying foreign inspection certificate. FSIS Directive 9040.5 on detained or rejected product:
This directive gives instructions to personnel in the Import and Export Policy Development Staff (IEPDS) within the Office of Policy and Program Development (OPPD) and personnel in District Offices (DO) within the Office of Field Operations (OFO) responsible for evaluating and verifying whether exporting U.S. establishments have implemented corrective actions after FSIS is notified that exported product from the U.S. failed to meet importing country requirements.
