Federal Register Notice of request for panel review:
A request for panel review was filed on behalf of the Canadian Government with the United States Section of the NAFTA Secretariat on December 5, 2017, pursuant to NAFTA Article 1904. Panel Review was requested of the Department of Commerce’s (DOC) final determination regarding certain softwood lumber products from Canada. See Details
Importing poultry meat and other poultry products from Sinaloa and Sonora:
This notice announces the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service’s (APHIS) intention to request a revision to and extension of approval of an information collection associated with the regulations for the importation of poultry meat and other poultry products from Sinaloa and Sonora and for pork and poultry products transiting the United States. All comments are invited on or before February 2, 2018. See Details
Rate of return reform:
In this document, the Commission announces that the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has approved, the information collection requirements associated with the Commission’s Rate-of Return Reform Order for a period of three years. The reforms adopted in this Order require rate-of-return LECs to make tariff filings with the necessary tariff materials outside of the normal tariff submitting period. See Details
CBP Investigation on the evasion of AD duty for glycine from China:
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued a notice of interim measures on December 4, 2017 to importer, Ceka Nutrition, Inc., in its ongoing Enforce and Protect Act (EAPA) investigation concerning the evasion of the antidumping (AD) duty order for glycine from the People’s Republic of China. CBP found a reasonable suspicion that Ceka Nutrition was entering glycine that had been transshipped from China through Cambodia. The notice of final determination in this investigation is due on July 2, 2018.  See Details
Updates in ACE Deployment G3:
CBP plans to deliver ACE Deployment G, Release 3A on December 9, 2017. This will include e214 (electronic Foreign Trade Zone admission),  Electronic filing of e214 transactions will be mandatory in ACE, manufacturer ID (MID) creation, and Availability in ACE Production environment of the new ACE Statement Reports REV-101, REV-102, REV-103 and REV-104. Again, CBP will deliver ACE Deployment G, Release 3B. At this point, ACE will become the system of record for all statements with the exception of reconciliation statements. CBP will deploy ACE Statement reports with ACE statement data by January 13, 2018. CBP will deliver Statements for all other entries on January 6, 2018 and will deliver statements for reconciliations as part of ACE Deployment G, Release 4 on February 24, 2018.  See Details
Filing date of 2018 Customs Broker status report and fee:
U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced that every licensed broker is required to file a status report with CBP every three years and the deadline for submitting the 2018 Triennial Status Report and fee is Feb. 28, 2018. This starts from December 15, 2017 for all licensed customs brokers. Submissions will be collected online through Pay.gov and it accepts credit card, debit card, and digital wallet (i.e. PayPal and Amazon Pay) payments. The receipts are provided electronically. APHIS New procedures for U.S. soybean exports to China:
The United States Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) is making U.S. soybean exporters aware of a new process to comply with China’s phytosanitary import requirements. It applies to both bulk and container shipments of raw, unprocessed soybeans to China. This will be effective from January 1, 2018. See Details
EPA Annual Regulatory Plan:
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), along with the rest of the federal government, released its semiannual agenda of regulatory and deregulatory Actions and Regulatory Plan. The semiannual regulatory agenda provides updates to the public about regulatory activity to support EPA’s core mission to protect human health and the environment. EPA’s plan describes regulatory and deregulatory actions that are under development or review and rules expected to be proposed or finalized with the next year. See Details
