On 15 March 2023, Mexico deposited its instrument of ratification of the Multilateral Convention on the Implementation of Tax Treaty-Related Measures to Prevent BEPS (MLI). The Convention will enter into force in relation to Mexico on 1 July 2023. Mexican list of reservations and communications to the MLI after depositing its instrument of ratification identifies 61 tax treaties that it wishes to fall under the Convention.
On 1 April 2023, 1177 treaties concluded among the 80 jurisdictions which have ratified, accepted or approved the BEPS Convention will have already been modified by the BEPS Convention. Around 700 additional treaties will be modified once the BEPS Convention will have been ratified by all Signatories.
