The OECD and Ukraine signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on 7 October 2014 to help Ukraine’s efforts to tackle corruption, strengthen its tax system and promote competitiveness.
The Memo determines priority areas and cooperation forms for the two-year’s term, it includes:
- Development of small and average businesses;
- Curbing corruption; public administration;
- Enhancement of sector competitiveness, including agriculture and green economy; management of state-owned enterprises;
- Improvement of tax administration system;
- Statistics development.
Ukraine believes implementation of the document will help in its efforts to:
- Improve the national legislation in accordance with best international practices and recommendations of the OECD, including to ensure realization of the Free Trade Area between Ukraine and the EU;
- Enlarge participation of Ukraine in activity of OECD working bodies;
- Launch new cooperation lines, in particular to ensure the development of green economy, improve state statistics system, competitive legislation and curb corruption etc.
