On 9 January 2024, the Luxembourg Administration of Direct Tax (Administration des Contributions Directes) released a newsletter regarding the municipal rate multipliers (coefficients) for the 2024 tax year. These coefficients were initially published in the Official Gazette on 21 December 2023. For municipal commercial (business) tax, the base municipal rate stands at 3%. This rate is then multiplied by the coefficients established by each municipality. In 2024, the City of Luxembourg and several others will apply the lowest coefficient of 225%, resulting in a total tax rate of 6.75%, while applying the highest coefficient of 350% will lead to a total tax rate of 10.50%.
