Luxembourg’s Government Council has approved the ratification of the protocol to the 2019 tax treaty on income and capital with Argentina on 28 March 2025.
The protocol will enter into force upon the exchange of ratification instruments and will apply from the same date as the treaty. The treaty, signed on 13 April 2019, will also enter into force once ratification instruments are exchanged and will apply from 1 January of the year following its entry into force.
Earlier, Argentina and Luxembourg signed an amending protocol to the 2019 income and capital tax treaty on 25 October 2024.
The tax treaty aims to eliminate double taxation on income and capital taxes while preventing tax evasion and fraud between Argentina and Luxembourg.
