Andorra’s government announced that it signed an income and capital tax treaty with Latvia on Saturday, 21 September 2024.
Andorra’s Foreign Minister, Imma Tor, and Latvia’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Baiba Braze, signed the agreement in New York on the occasion of their participation in the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly. The agreement must now be submitted for parliamentary approval.
The income tax treaty, the first of its kind between the two countries, aims to prevent double taxation on income and equity taxes and tax evasion.
The treaty will take effect once the instruments of ratification have been exchanged.
