Kazakhstan has accepted plans to withdraw its VAT regime next year and it will be substituted with a simple sales tax. This sales tax will be levied at 12% regarding cash payments. To discourage non-disclosure, there will be a 7% discount on this for invoices settled by bank transfers. The current VAT rate is 12% and charged by all legal entities along with an annual turnover more than MCI 30,000. Overseas companies cannot VAT register but their clients will be needed to VAT withhold from invoice payments.
