The Italian Chamber of Deputies approved the law ratifying the income tax treaty with Libya on 8 January 2025. This follows after Italy’s Senate ratified the pending income tax treaty with Libya on 11 September 2024.
Signed on 10 June 2009, it is the first treaty of its kind between the two countries. The agreement aims to promote economic cooperation and avoid double taxation between the two nations.
The treaty will take effect once ratification instruments are exchanged and will apply from 1 January of the following year.
