The first round of tax treaty negotiations will now take place from 18–22 August 2025.

Hong Kong and Cameroon have rescheduled dates for the first round of negotiations for an income tax treaty. Negotiations will now be held from 18 to 22 August 2025, according to an update from the Hong Kong Inland Revenue Department (IRD).

The negotiations were previously set to be held from 11–15  August 2025.

Any resulting treaty will be the first of its kind between the two nations and will aim to eliminate double taxation on income and prevent tax evasion and avoidance.

The treaty requires finalisation, signing, and ratification before it can take effect.
