The Ministry of Economy of Guatemala issued on 28 April 2016, Ministerial Agreement No. 162-2016, which contains the list of export and maquila companies that are eligible to continue the 10-year income tax exemption period which was granted by Decree 29-89.
The list included in the Ministerial Agreement was issued by the Ministry as established by Decree 19-2016 which amends Decree 29-89 by abolishing automatic extension of the 10-year income tax exemption and establishes that only the companies included in the list issued by the Ministry of Economy will be eligible to continue the already granted income tax exemption period.
