Ghana has implemented amended individual income tax rates from 1 September 2026 and raised the turnover threshold for the Modified Taxation Scheme, with eligible individuals subject to a 3% presumptive tax on business turnover.
The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has announced on 24 September 2026 that the amended individual income tax rates introduced under the Income Tax (Amendment) Act 2026 (Act 1178) took effect on 1 September 2026.

Increase in turnover threshold for modified taxation scheme
The Modified Taxation Scheme also changes. Individuals with annual business turnover above GHS 20,000 and up to GHS 750,000 now pay a flat 3% presumptive tax on that turnover.
