On 14 December 2022, Germany published a notice in the Official Gazette regarding the Multilateral Convention to Implement Tax Treaty Related Measures to Prevent Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (MLI). Accordingly, Germany added South Africa to the list of jurisdictions that ratified BEPS MLI effective from 1 January 2023.
