SF: Germany and the UAE reaffirmed plans to conclude tax treaty negotiations at an early stage during the UAE President’s visit to Germany. The countries also strengthened cooperation in investment, trade, energy and other strategic areas.

Germany and the UAE are expected to conclude negotiations for a tax treaty between the two countries at an early stage, according to a joint declaration on 10 September 2026 and published by the Emirati Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan visited Germany from 9 to 11 September 2026, during which the two countries reaffirmed their strategic partnership. The visit resulted in the establishment of a Strategic Dialogue covering security, trade, investment, energy, technology and other areas.

The two countries also welcomed a UAE investment package of EUR 40 billion in Germany and plans to establish a German-UAE Investment Council. They noted 29 business agreements worth more than EUR 9.356 billion, alongside growing bilateral trade and investment ties.

The leaders also discussed regional and international issues, including Iran, Gaza, Ukraine, Sudan, Lebanon and Syria. They reaffirmed their support for diplomacy, peace, sovereignty and international law.
