Germany’s federal and state governments’ tax revenue rose 5.3% in August when compared to the same month last year, said the finance ministry on Friday, 20 September 2024.
According to the ministry’s monthly report, tax revenue collected by federal and state governments totaled EUR 61.9 billion (USD 68.9 billion) last month, following a 7.9% drop in July.
The tax revenue increased by 2.3% from January to August compared to the same period last year, amounting to EUR 539.79 billion.
In its latest forecast, the German government anticipates a 0.2% growth in the economy for this year, with an updated projection scheduled for 9 October 2024.
